Persistence, Patience & Prayer: A Walk for Peace

  • Almetto Howey Alexander Labyrinth at the McCrorey Family YMCA 3801 Beatties Ford Road Charlotte, NC, 28216 United States (map)

Walk the Almetto Alexander Howey Labyrinth in this mindful and transformative journey as thousands walk labyrinths simultaneously on World Labyrinth Day, Across the globe at 1 pm, participants will be shaping a more compassionate future. This shared walk in time creates a powerful sense of global coherence that is real, reaches many hearts, and allows us to embody compassion and Oneness.

A labyrinth is an ancient design with a single path that leads you on a journey toward the center. This event will give you an opportunity to walk a labyrinth as a form of walking meditation and reflect on the experience with writing and discussion.

An introduction to the use of labyrinths and the history of the labyrinth we will walk will be shared.  Along with guided gentle movement and breath work to prepare us to walk the labyrinth at 1 pm.

All are welcome, whether you’re seeking peace across the world, a walk outdoors, or a meaningful way to set the tone for the day. The Almetto Howey Alexander labyrinth is outdoors. Walkers are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes, and weather-appropriate clothing for the elements. Bring water/beverage of choice, a pen and a journal.  There are a couple of benches where a participant could sit versus walk.

We all walk at our own risk. I Am Yoga assumes no liability.

Donations:

Donations will be directly used to support local community wellness classes and may be made at the walk.
